The city of Aventura, Florida is a 3.5 square mile suburban city of northeast Miami-Dade. It began to develop in the early 1970s and became an incorporated city in 1995. It is bordered by Golden Beach, Sunny Isles Hallandale Beach and Ojus.
It is home to the famous Aventura Mall, one of the largest malls in the United States, offering a diverse selection of upscale retailers, luxury boutiques, department stores, and dining options. With its modern architecture and spacious layout, Aventura Mall provides visitors with a high-end shopping experience, including renowned brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Apple. Additionally, it features amenities such as a food court, movie theater, and interactive art installations, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike.
Another landmark in Aventura, Florida is the JW Marriott Turnbery Resort which features a golf course and water park (Tidal Cove).
Residents of the city attend Miami-Dade school district public schools. Greynolds Elementary, Ojus Elementary, Virginia Boone Elementary, Highland Oaks Middle School, Waterways K-8, Dr. Michael Krop Senior HS and North Miami Beach Senior HS. Aventura has several parks! Founders Park which includes a splash pad. Founders Park South which houses the community green garden. Peace Park, Veterans Park, Waterways Park and Waterways Dog Park. For those looking for an exercise path, check out the 3.1 mile trail circling the Turnberry Isle Resort Golf Course, often referred to as “the circle“.
