I went to see the Don Soffer Aventura High School production of Grease and honestly… it was AMAZING!! From the very start, you could tell the kids were excited to be up there. They weren’t trying too hard to copy the movie or be something they’re not. It is hard to believe that they only had 3 months to pull it off!

I couldn’t help thinking how lucky these students are to perform in a space like the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center. It’s not your typical school auditorium—it’s a beautiful, professional theater. The lighting, the stage, the whole atmosphere elevates everything and gives the students a chance to experience what it’s like to perform on a real stage. It adds a level of excitement and pride that you just can’t replicate, and it made their hard work shine even more!

You could feel that support in the room the entire night. The audience wasn’t just watching—they were fully in it, cheering, laughing, and just genuinely proud. It had that kind of energy that makes a performance even more special, where you’re not just seeing a show, you’re part of a moment for these kids.
AND THE PARENTS! They were a big part of making this happen. Shows like this don’t come together without a lot of support behind the scenes, and these kids definitely had that. THANK YOU!
Nights like this are such a good reminder of how much talent and heart these students have. It wasn’t just a performance—it was something they built together, and you could feel that in every part of the show. It’s refreshing to see kids this engaged in something creative and real, putting their phones down and showing up for something they truly care about.
